"These are the times that try men's souls" "...yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph" Thoman Paine The Crisis
When we are faced with huge changes as we are now, there are three primitive reactions people tend to adopt, white knucke it (fight), give up (flight) or sit tight (freeze). There is a fourth response, however, that has the potential for great reward - transform.
I have been through several major transformations in my life. Each one delivered greater freedom, health and happiness. Here are a few of my tips for thriving through tough times:
Nourish Yourself - Control physical stress and increase energy by eating heathier, moving more, drink water, get sun & rest, and appreciate your innate value is not measured by external circumstances. Stay Present - Control overwhelm by focusing on what is right and actions you can take now. Qs: "What am I grateful for right now?" "What can I do right now?" "What is the best use of my time today?" Visualize Success - Control worry (fear of the future) by focusing your mind on what you want to experience in the future. Feel how good it feels as you imagine that happening. Release the Past - Garner the wisdom from the past and let it go. Forgive others and yourself for presumed mistakes. EFT tapping is great for this. Give and Accept Support - Control feelings of isolation and vulnerability by giving and receiving support. Accept support from those who are able and offer support to others (empowering). Also, get support from someone who can coach or guide you through. Trust Your Resilience - Control fear of the unknown by reminding yourself of what you know. You have survived tough times before. What are your abilities, strengths, talents, skills that you can rely on?
Finally, Give your mind this positive question to ponder. "Why will I survive and thrive through this tough time?" The answer may surprise you and is sure to encourage you.
"My Pain was Relieved" "Pain was relieved in my wrist, as well as my jaws! Thank You so much! I definitely will continue with this. I plan to incorporate it with my clients.” Wendy Beech, LPC, LSW
"My Phobia is Gone" “My phobia is gone. I have a real phobia about driving in heavy traffic areas, especially with ramps that are elevated. I tried the tapping and drove on an expressway, with ease and comfort, that normally I would have avoided like the plague. That convinced me!” Pat Pietri
"I lost 100lbs three times, the last time was permanent!" Aila Accad, RN, MSN
“I would recommend the program to everyone.” ”Looking back over the past year I believe it has taken a combination of things to get me to the point of my being willing to lose weight. If any one component had been missing I would not have lost 27 pounds (so far). I am very glad I took the Weight No More TeleCoaching Program. I would recommend the program to everyone.” Betty Warren
