On a Personal Note....
When I owned an Employee Assistance Program,
I had a 24-hour call in service. There were very few
calls in the middle of the night except during the
change of season. I noticed after several years that
the first nice days of spring or cold days marking the
change from fall to winter I could count on receiving
off hours calls.
Does your body react to the change in season or change
of the clock to DST? These seem like simple changes to
manage compared to the financial, work and relationship
changes imposed upon us lately.
Changes of all kinds can be stressful.
In this issue of De-Stress Tips and News we'll explore
some de-stress strategies that can help during times of
change.
I'm delighted to be able to share them with you and would
love to hear the your tips too.

Reclaim Your Power
When the world feels topsy-turvy it is easy
to lose your balance. The perceived threat
to survival kicks in along with your primitive
protective reactions of fight, flight or freeze.
Most modern changes are not life threatening.
Reclaim your power by taking a deep breath,
feeling your feet on the ground and connecting
with your heart. This puts you back in touch with
the abiding source of strength, knowing and clarity
that is available to support you through all the changes
in your life.

Holly Tank is a Project Engineer who achieved an entire
life redirection through our coaching process.
Changing her perspective and learning new skills, lead
to a change of work, relocation to a new state, and

Q When things start changing around you that you have
no control over, whether it be work or personal, how do
you deal with the stress this causes?
A Change is stressful when it catches you by surprise or
is dictated by someone without your consultation. Even
though you are not in control of deciding when change
comes, remember that you are in control of your own
perceptions and choices.
1. Realize that change requires physical energy. This is
the time to drink lots of water, eat nutritious food, get plenty
of rest and remember to breathe deeply on a regular basis.
2. Nature changes in cycles of death and rebirth. Where is
the opportunity for some new creative possibility in this
change for you? I worked with people who were laid off
from their jobs. Once the initial crisis was over, they were
often grateful for the opportunity to finally pursue life long
dreams.
3. Our primitive feelings of fear of loss or threats to survival
are normal. This is a great time to use the Emotional
Freedom Techniques to reduce the fear and open the space
for clear thinking to evaluate options and make conscious
choices.
